This Privacy Policy describes how TalkPrep (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you access or use TalkPrep and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Scope; Eligibility

The Services are intended for users located in the United States and Canada and for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13.

2. Definitions

“Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular individual or household.

“Processing” means collecting, using, storing, disclosing, deleting, or otherwise handling information.

“Service Providers” means vendors and contractors that Process information on our behalf to provide the Services.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

User Content: audio recordings, transcripts, prompts, and other content you submit through the Services, and the corresponding AI-generated evaluations and session history.

Account Information: your email address when you create an account.

Support and Feedback: information you submit when contacting us or providing feedback, including optional contact information.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage and Log Data: server logs that may include approximate network information (such as IP address), timestamps, and diagnostic data necessary to maintain security and operate the Services.

Analytics and Measurement Data: third-party analytics and advertising-measurement technologies collect online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers and IP address) and information about how you interact with the Services.

3.3 Information Stored in Your Browser

The Services use cookies and similar browser storage to maintain your authenticated session and remember preferences, and for analytics and advertising measurement. See Section 9 for information about how to control these technologies.

3.4 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not intentionally request or collect precise location data, contacts, or health data. If you choose to submit such information in User Content, it will be processed as part of that content.

4. How We Use Information

We process information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services, including transcribing audio and delivering AI-generated coaching feedback.
  • Maintain session history and track your progress over time.
  • Maintain, protect, and improve the Services, including debugging, performance monitoring, security, and quality assurance.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

5. Legal Bases (Where Applicable)

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the Services), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improvement), compliance with legal obligations, and consent (where specifically requested).

6. How We Disclose Information

6.1 Service Providers

We may disclose information to Service Providers that support the Services, including cloud hosting, infrastructure, security, analytics, tag management, and advertising-measurement providers. Service Providers are authorized to process information only as necessary to provide services to us.

6.2 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to customary confidentiality protections.

6.3 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information to comply with law, lawful requests, or legal process; or to protect the rights, property, and safety of the Services, users, and others.

6.4 No Sale of Personal Information; Limited Advertising Activity

We do not sell Personal Information for monetary consideration. We do use a limited number of analytics and advertising-measurement technologies that share online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers and IP address) with the providers of those technologies in order to measure the effectiveness of our marketing and, in some cases, to support interest-based advertising on other sites and apps. Depending on your jurisdiction, this activity may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” of Personal Information under applicable law. You can limit or opt out of this activity using the controls described in Section 9.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services. Retention periods vary:

  • Audio recordings and session history: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless deleted upon account deletion.
  • Support records: retained for a reasonable period to address issues and maintain service continuity.
  • Logs and diagnostics: retained for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or de-identified.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access to, correction of, deletion of, and portability of your Personal Information. To exercise rights, contact us. We may require identity verification before fulfilling certain requests.

Cookies and tracking technologies:you can manage or block cookies through your browser's settings. We honor the “Global Privacy Control” browser signal where required by applicable law.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing:California and certain other state residents may direct us not to “sell” or “share” their Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise this right, visit Your Privacy Choices. We will honor verified opt-out requests within 15 business days and will not ask you to opt back in for at least 12 months.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. If we learn we have collected Personal Information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from Canada or another jurisdiction, information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
